I, Nilay Kumar Dey, obtained my PhD from Inha University, Incheon, South Korea, in Physical Organic Chemistry under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hai Whang Lee, in February 2010. During my PhD, I have worked on the Aminolysis and Pyridinolysis of Dimethyl Phosphinic Chloride and Methyl Phenyl Phosphinic Chloride, Dimethylthiophosphinic Chloride, Diphenylthiophosphinic Chloride, Dimethyl and Diethylchloro (thiono) Phosphates with Anilines, Pyridines and deuterated Anilines-Pyridines to investigate their Transition State Mechanism.
I had worked as a Sr. Quality Control Officer in Opsonin Pharmaceutical Limited, Bagura Road, Barisal, Bangladesh (April 2002 to January 2006). Since March 2010 to February 2011, I served as a postdoctoral research fellow in Sungkyunkwan University, Suwon, South Korea, and my research based on adsorption and photo catalytic degradation of Methylene blue over TiO2 films on carbon fiber and photo catalytic decomposition of toluene by Nanodiamond-supported TiO2, both catalysts was prepared using atomic layer deposition.
I also served my second postdoctoral fellowship in Korea Institute of Materials Science, Changwon, South Korea, from March 2011 to February 2012. My major research was CNTs (carbon nanotubes) synthesis, characterization and their applications. I have received numerous awards projects: Korea Science and Engineering Foundation (2006); Jungseok International Scholarship (2006); Brain Korea 21 (2008); Army Defense Development Research Center (2009), High Energy Materials Research Center (2010); The International Union of Materials Research Society – International Conference in Asia (Excellent Poster, 2011); Ministry of Knowledge Economy (2011).
I am a member of the International Union of Materials Research Societies (2011); The Ertle Symposium on Electrochemistry and Catalysis (2010); The Korean International Symposium on High Energy Materials (2009); The Korean Chemical Society (2006); The Society for Pharmaceutical Chemistry (2005); Bangladesh Chemical Society (2013). I have 20 SCI publications on Physical Organic Chemistry, Surface and Solid State Chemistry, Carbon nanotube and composites.
